Practically all business schools offer students the opportunity to take advanced classes in a special interest area. These majors--also known as areas of concentration or specializations--are offered within general management and in virtually all business functions. Requirements vary according to the major selected but can include up to six full-year courses in the specialization.
Students typically apply to their major at the end of their second year of studies, and in some cases not until their third year. Entrance to some areas of concentration in Business is restricted and based on academic merit.
