Areas of specialization (also called concentrations) in business allow students to focus their business education toward the career they want. An area of specialization means you take a number of specific courses in a particular business field or application, such as accounting, arts and media, aviation, business law, consumer behavior, e-commerce, entrepreneurship and venture development, fashion management, health care administration, international management, leadership, marketing management or research, real estate management, supply chain management, taxation and many others.
Areas of specialization can also be taken as minors, which means you take fewer classes in the area of specialization. Most schools offer business minors for business majors, as well as business minors for non-business majors (i.e., students majoring in another field altogether).
