Business Diploma Core (Foundation) Classes
Business Programs
Business students, regardless of their chosen fields of specialization/area of concentration, are required to complete a mandatory set of business courses referred to as "core courses" (also known as "business foundation classes"). These courses are foundational pre-requisites to higher-level courses in a business diploma and to the areas of specialization.

Since several core competencies are considered essential for business students, and every student who graduates from a 2-yr business program, through successful completion of the core classes, is able to demonstrate:

  • a clear understanding of the role that business plays in the development of the economic structures of the United States and international markets;

  • a fundamental knowledge of the principles involved in some of the main business disciplines, such as accounting, economics, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing;

  • effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
