Business programs with Honors Thesis projects are specific to the Honors Degree in Business. An Honors Thesis allows students to demonstrate their research and writing skills, and is not necessarily viewed as a contribution to knowledge the way a graduate thesis is meant to be. Rather, an undergraduate Honors Thesis requires students to demonstrate their ability to conduct extended exploration of a significant problem or issue in the field of business. The thesis--usually about 40 to 80 pages--may require the student to identify the problem, state the major assumptions, explain the significance of the undertaking, set forth the sources for and methods of gathering information, analyze data, and offer conclusions. The finished project evidences an understanding of business concepts, as well as critical and independent thinking and effective communication strategies.
