Business school community service is designed to keep students in Business in touch with their communities. The various kinds of community service programs give students the chance to gain essential experience, as well as the opportunity to give back to the community that supports them.
Business school community service may be voluntary, or it may be a mandatory part of an undergraduate degree in Business. Community service can be pursued in a variety of ways: students may work unpaid or in minimally paying positions at non-profit or government aid organizations; they may offer services to parts of the community in need (for example, accounting students may offer free tax services to senior citizens); or students may participate in public works projects designed to aid those in need.
Business school community service therefore benefits both students and the wider community.
