Many 4-year business programs and virtually all 2-year diploma programs are what is known as "direct entry" programs in which students who meet the program pre-requisites are admitted directly from high school. Some programs require a pre-professional year of studies and in fact the degree can best be thought of as a "1 + 3" program; others require two years of university study before admission to the business program and are known as "2 + 2" programs.
