Honors programs in Business are available to students of proven academic ability who are interested in pursuing more advanced programs of study. Honors programs are offered in conventional concentrations of Business: accounting, actuarial science, business law, computer information systems, finance & financial management, human resources management, insurance & risk management, international business, marketing management, project management, sales management and taxation, among others.
Entry into honors programs usually requires permission of the department head, fulfillment of specific course requirements (which are more rigid than a general major program), and the maintenance of a minimum GPA (grade point average) in courses in the honors field.
Some honors programs may include an independent research project or thesis. As such, with their challenging curricula and high academic standards, honors degrees provide good preparation for graduate programs in Business.
Students graduate with a bachelor's degree in Business with the distinction of "honors" noted on their diplomas.
