A 4-year undergraduate Business degree provides a broad-based general business education with an opportunity for students to focus in one or two areas of specialization (also known as majors or concentrations). Regardless of whether the business program is directly entry or requires one or two years of prior university studies, undergraduate business programs share a similar underlying structure. This structure includes:
a mandatory "core" curriculum of business courses
a mandatory or optional course of study in a "declared" major, area of concentration or specialization
elective courses to be taken within the Business Faculty or department
elective courses to be taken from other faculties and departments outside the Faculty or department and within the university or college
